LCS Foundation Donations Support Innovative High School Program

The LCS Foundation has partnered with Waukee High School for its Aspiring Professional Experience (APEX) CNA program. The program launched in 2021 to offer students the opportunity to explore careers and gain real-world experience in the field of healthcare before choosing a post-secondary program. The LCS Foundation has purchased six hospital "rooms in a box" needed for training, a lab refrigerator, and an innovative cell counter to expand the capabilities of the lab.

Since the program started, more than 100 students have benefited from this innovative and hands-on program. Students can start careers immediately as CNAs after high school or build on their learning through connections with industry partners and career opportunities in the nursing field. The LCS Foundation is proud invest in these future leaders and make their experiences even more valuable through the donation of real equipment and materials.
