LCS Foundation Launches Special Appeal for Employees Impacted by Hurricane Helene

Oct 7, 2024
Donations will provide Emergency Relief Funds to LCS community employees affected by the storm.

The LCS Foundation is launching a special appeal to benefit LCS community-based employees affected by Hurricane Helene. Many LCS community employees have suffered significant personal losses due to the unprecedented storm and requests for LCS Foundation Emergency Relief Funds (ERF) are urgent and substantial. To help meet the increased requests for personal assistance, the LCS Foundation is asking the community for donations.

Please watch this important video from Joel Nelson, LCS CEO, with an update and request on behalf of the LCS Foundation.

“The LCS Foundation has a strong history of responding in times of crisis and providing support for employees when they need it most,” said Elisa Baptiste, LCS Foundation Board Chair. “We are grateful for the compassion for our community colleagues who, despite being impacted personally, have stayed to support and care for our residents and communities during this challenging time.”

All donations received will go to provide ERF relief to LCS community employees who have requested (and qualify) for assistance. Baptiste added “Any contribution made today, large or small, will make an immediate impact and difference to those in need at this difficult time.”

How to Donate
Donations can be made through the LCS Foundation website’s secure donation portal here, or via check (mail to: LCS Foundation, 400 Locust Street, Ste 820, Des Moines, IA 50309). Please add ‘Hurricane’ to the comment or note section of the donation so it can be directed to Hurricane Helene relief.

The LCS Foundation Emergency Relief Fund provides financial support to LCS employees who experience unexpected hardships. Personal crises may come from a serious illness, a debilitating injury, a fire, flood or other natural disaster.
